Meatball soup for a 10 month old baby recipes

Meat complementary foods and eggs have long been introduced into the baby’s diet, we are no longer ashamed to add a little onion to soups, and the child has acquired the radiant smile of a real toother. It varies from person to person, but starting from approximately 10-12 months, it’s time to feed meatballs. Down with pureed meat, we are learning to chew!

Grind rabbit, turkey, chicken 2 times in a meat grinder through a fine mesh, chicken (domestic), veal - 3 times. We also grind the onion through a meat grinder. For meatballs, you can use two types of meat at the same time. Grind the oatmeal in a blender and add it to the minced meat. You can add a little salt, for those who already add salt, knead the minced meat well and let it stand for a while so that the oatmeal swells.

Separately, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. At first I made it with quail eggs, but when the child began to eat chicken eggs, I mixed it with chicken protein, but it’s still less of a hassle. Gently mix the beaten egg whites into the minced meat, then form meatballs, periodically wetting your hands in water.

It is convenient to freeze meatballs in silicone candy molds. After freezing, transfer to a bag, store in the freezer, use for soups, boil in a double boiler, stew.

I keep the proportions by eye, don’t blame me. Approximately 1/6 of the onion from the mass of minced meat (the child was accustomed to boiled onions literally from the first days of complementary feeding, and treats it favorably), approximately the same amount of ground oatmeal. For airiness and elasticity, I determine the amount of whipped egg whites by eye; they should be introduced gradually; it is better not to add anything than to end up with liquid and slimy meatballs.

MEATBALLS RECIPE FOR BABIES 10-16 MONTHS

To prepare meatballs you will need 100 grams of beef or turkey meat, 1 egg white, 2/3 teaspoon of saline solution and 15 ml of milk.

1. Free the pulp from films and fat.

2. Pass it through a meat grinder twice.

3. Pour in milk, salt solution and mix well.

4. Add egg white, whipped into a strong foam, to the minced meat and mix again.

5. From the resulting mass, roll into small balls the size of cherries.

6. Place them in boiling broth or soup and cook over low heat (so that it barely boils) for 8-12 minutes.

Meatballs can be served with thin porridge, vegetable puree (from cauliflower, carrots, broccoli, zucchini or potatoes) or small noodles.

Let your baby try to take the meatball with his hands; you can also feed the baby with a spoon so that he tries to bite off the meat ball and chew. First, let him drink the soup from a spoon. If you can’t chew, dilute it with broth or mash the meatball together with porridge. Children whose incisors have only erupted can chew well tender meatballs prepared with the addition of whipped egg whites.

In the meatball recipe, I write a salt solution, because babies need very little salt, and bulk salt is difficult to dose. Excess salt is very harmful for a child. It is easier to distribute throughout the food mass in the form of a solution.

And now the saline solution recipe

To prepare you will need 25 grams of table salt and 100 ml of water.

1. Pour hot water over the salt and boil over low heat for 10 minutes.

2. Strain the solution through a double layer of gauze, add hot water to make 100 ml of solution.

3. Boil again and pour into a dry, clean bottle.

The solution is consumed less than ½ teaspoon per 200 grams of soup or food made from fish, meat, and vegetables.

Choosing the ingredients.

Vegetables.

Vegetable additives already familiar to the baby are used. Safe ingredients will be zucchini. Such ingredients are rich in vegetable protein and contain dietary fiber necessary for normal intestinal function. Pumpkin, carrots, potatoes are introduced later. You can make a bright assorted vegetable dish for your baby with the addition of meatballs. Vegetable broths are considered safe, but may cause increased gas formation.

We carefully choose the type of meat.

It is important to remember that rabbit and turkey, veal are the best option for kids. Chicken is more likely to cause allergic reactions. Pork can put excessive strain on a child’s gastrointestinal tract. Ground beef is classified as refractory, since its fatty acids are difficult for infants to digest.

Cereals and pasta.

Choose from among already familiar species. Rice and semolina go well with chicken meatballs. Pasta and noodles go well with beef and pork products.

Be especially careful when choosing cereals for children with celiac disease.

Spices and salt.

These products are added to children's menus as they grow older, taking into account the child's tendency to allergic reactions. It is recommended to use seasonings that correspond to family traditions for no earlier than 2 years.

How to prepare soup for a 10 month old baby?

When I cook myself, I steam meatballs and vegetables (in a slow cooker). Then put everything in a blender and add a little boiled water. It turns out to be puree. But I am of the opinion that at this age meat broth cannot yet be given.

If with broth, then boil everything in water and grind it in a blender the same way, only with the addition of broth. In this case, I would still use secondary broth (i.e., as soon as the water with the meat (meatball) boils, drain it, rinse the meatball, and cook it again in clean water).

Well, the recipes are simple. Any meat and any vegetables suitable for 10 months of age. We made the meatballs in advance (from different meats) and froze them, the vegetables were fresh. Without salt and spices, of course. I don't add oil, because... I add it to my morning porridge.

I’m also against meat broth, but it’s too early for meatballs, the slightest crumb starts to spit. because we only have 2 teeth)) - 3 years ago

We also don’t eat meatballs that haven’t been ground yet. I just cooked it like this, and in the blender everything turns into regular puree (like in a jar).

PS: my child (10 months old) also spits from large pieces, although he already has 7 teeth. But at the same time he calmly bites bread or cookies and chews. I'm thinking about how to gradually transition him to non-puree foods. - 3 years ago

We have been making soups for our baby since he was 7 months old.

Previously, everything in the soup was ground in a blender, but now only meat and vegetables.

Cook soup with chicken (wings, thighs).

As soon as the chicken boils, add coarsely chopped vegetables: potatoes and carrots.

We also put the onion (a small head) and sweet pepper into the soup to cook, but we take it out and throw it away after 15 minutes (they need vitamins and flavor in the broth).

Lastly, add cereals (rice, buckwheat) or small vermicelli.

You grind meat and vegetables, but you don’t need cereal or noodles.

He really likes soup with stars. Salt to taste, do not add pepper.

If the soup turns out to be liquid, then add finely chopped bread crumbs to it.

MENU for a 10 month old baby.

At 10 months, the child can be fed any soups.

If you decide to cook meat soup, then it is better to grind the meat through a meat grinder, boil the carrots, potatoes, salt the minced meat, you can make meatballs into the soup, without frying.

If you want to cook fish soup, then fish fillet will do, also cook vegetables and also without frying.

You can add rice or noodles to soups.

You can grind it in a blender or with a fork to make a puree soup.

Soups for a 10 month old baby can be prepared from many products to diversify the menu. For example, you can cook it from chicken (fresh!), veal meat, meatballs, vegetables, and I also cooked it for my daughter from chicken giblets.

For giblet soup, I cleaned the giblets, washed them, and first removed all visible fat, not leaving even an ounce. Then she started cooking them. You can use navels from the total mass of giblets. 1 paw, 1 wing, liver. That is, you can divide them and cook them twice. After that I set them to cook.

You can also add diced potatoes at the same time, or after 15 minutes, since giblets usually don’t cook very quickly, but they are useful. I put the carrots in immediately, cut them into cubes or strips, whatever you like, but the smaller the better. Cereals or pasta should be added last, as they cook quickly and can become overcooked, although this is not a problem, because we can spin it all in a blender. Be sure to add herbs, green pepper, and a little salt. Everything needs to be brought to readiness. At the end, if you think it necessary, spin it in a blender. The soup is very tasty and healthy.

Children's nutrition should be varied and healthy so that the child grows up healthy. Every time, preparing another portion for their child, mothers try to make it not only tasty, but also in such a way that even the most capricious kids do not refuse food. Today we will tell you a few secrets for preparing meatballs for the children's menu.

How to cook meatballs for a child?

Meatballs for children under one year of age are best prepared from lean and dietary meat. Turkey or rabbit pulp is suitable for this. Starting from the age of one year, meatballs for a child can already be made from lean beef or pork, as well as from veal or chicken.

Starting from the age of two, dishes with fish balls are prepared for children. If a child does not like the overly pronounced taste of fish, such meatballs can be added to soup, then some of the flavor is lost.

For young children, it is best to form meatballs from boiled meat, since today it is impossible to be completely sure that it does not contain traces of hormonal drugs or antibiotics. During cooking, all unnecessary substances, if any, go into the broth. The broth itself should not be given to children.

Turkey Meatball Soup

Turkey Meatball Soup for Kids takes a little time to make. In addition, due to the vegetables and lean meat, the soup is very healthy for a small child.

  • turkey meat – 100 g;
  • potatoes – 2 pcs.;
  • onion – 1 pc.;
  • carrots – 2 pcs.;
  • quail egg - 2 pcs., can be replaced with half a chicken egg;
  • salt, bay leaf;
  • garlic (optional).

Wash the turkey meat and place it in a pan with water. After boiling, boil for half an hour. Meanwhile, put a second pan of water on the fire. You need about 700 ml of water. Peel and cut into cubes potatoes, carrots, onions and garlic. When the pot of water boils, add the onions and carrots. After boiling again, cook the vegetables for another 10 minutes and add the potatoes and garlic. Cook all the vegetables for another 20 minutes.

We take the cooked turkey meat out of the broth and pass it through a meat grinder 2 times or grind it with a blender. Add eggs to the meat and form meatballs. Here you can show your imagination and mold interesting shapes out of meatballs to make it more interesting for your baby to eat.

Place the meatballs in a pan with vegetables when the potatoes are cooked. After the meatballs float to the surface, cook the soup for another two minutes, salt it and, if desired, add a bay leaf to the soup.

Steamed meatballs

Steamed meatballs for children can be made from chicken or any other meat, as well as fish.

  • chicken meat – 100 g;
  • chicken egg – 1 pc.;
  • cottage cheese – 2 tbsp. spoons;
  • butter – 1 teaspoon;
  • salt to taste.

We pass the chicken meat through a meat grinder twice. Beat the egg into the resulting mass and add all the other ingredients, mixing them well. From the resulting minced meat we form meatballs and steam them until cooked.

These meatballs can be added to vegetable broth or served as a separate dish. Also, meatballs prepared in this way can be additionally placed in the oven for 20 minutes, after pouring them with milk sauce and sprinkling with grated cheese.

Good day, dear parents. Today you will learn how to cook meatballs for children. You will become familiar with cooking recipes for both beef and chicken. Let's look at the features of preparing this dish for little toddlers.

Cooking Rules

Before preparing a baby dish, it is useful for a young mother to familiarize herself with some of the features of preparing dishes with meatballs for babies up to one year old:

  • It is better to make meatballs from a whole piece of meat, rather than from store-bought minced meat. The meat is pre-soaked. Such actions will reduce the concentration of extractives. Then the meat is thoroughly cleaned of films, cut into pieces and passed through a meat grinder several times.
  • How long to cook the product depends on the type of meat. Semi-finished chicken products, rabbit or turkey products - about 25 minutes. Beef meatballs - 30 minutes. Veal - 20 minutes. Pork - 25 minutes.
  • Meatballs can be cooked in a double boiler for second courses. Cooking time: 40 minutes. A tasty and tender option - meatballs with gravy and side dish will definitely please your child. You can also cook healthy children's soup in a slow cooker.

Meat and fish broths are given no earlier than 2 years. Frying is also not used in children's nutrition. It’s especially not worth frying the meatballs themselves.

  • Meatball soup for a child under 1 year old is prepared using second water. Meat products are placed in boiling water and boiled for about 5 minutes. Then the broth is drained and the pan is filled with a new portion of water, brought to a boil, the meatballs are reinserted and cooked until tender along with the other ingredients.
  • Meatballs for baby food can be frozen raw. To do this, place the balls on a cutting board and place them in the freezer for several hours. After freezing, distribute into single serving bags for easy storage and subsequent defrosting.

Children under one year old are given salt in the amount of 0.2 g per day.

  • Timely collection of foam on the surface of the liquid will make the dish transparent.
  • To prevent the minced meat from sticking to your hands during the process of forming balls, your palms are moistened with water.
  • If you make very large balls, you will get meatballs without rice. Such a product will take a long time to cook and risks falling apart during heat treatment. The optimal meatball size is a large walnut.

To make the meatball sauce as tasty and rich as possible, we recommend adding cheese to it. It can be any variety, but if you want it to stretch better, use mozzarella.

    Children's food should be healthy and nutritious, so special requirements are placed on dishes for babies. Frying and sautéing are practically eliminated, and the use of spices and semi-finished products is minimized.

    Meatballs for children are prepared from lean meats or fish, mixing minced meat with potatoes or rice, herbs, boiled carrots and pumpkin. Onions and garlic are also added to minced meat, but in dishes for children over 3 years old. The minced meat is thoroughly ground and kneaded until a homogeneous mass is formed. The longer the kneading process, the better the small balls hold their shape during heat treatment.

    Meatballs are boiled, stewed and steamed. Any side dish goes with them. This could be mashed potatoes, pea or cereal porridge, pasta or a complex vegetable stew.

    What recipes can be used to prepare meatballs for children are described in detail in the recipes below.

    Introduction principles

    There are established provisions for the preparation of children's dishes, which a young mother must adhere to in order to safely feed the baby and preserve the beneficial properties of its components:

    • Meat dishes are introduced into the diet of children from 8 months of age, but in special cases, incl. if hemoglobin is low, the pediatrician may recommend meat puree as a second complementary food.
    • The amount of healthy food depends on age and does not exceed 70 grams by 12 months.
    • For children prone to allergies, egg whites are not added. Flour, semolina and other products with gluten are also not used.
    • Children's soup, like other dishes for children, must be freshly prepared. They cannot be stored or reheated.

    Chicken Ryaba meatballs with dill

    Tender balls of chicken fillet with the addition of dill to prevent colic. Suitable for babies from 10 months.

    • Thigh meat – 400 g.
    • Boiled round rice – 150 g.
    • Dried dill – 1 tsp.
    • Salt.
    • Butter – 50 g.
    • Chicken egg – 1 pc.
    1. Grind boneless fillet (without skin) along with boiled round rice and a piece of butter. The cereal should not be overcooked.
    2. Add dried dill and salt to the minced meat. Knead and, depending on the consistency, add one or two eggs.
    3. The minced meat will not be moldable, that is, you won’t be able to roll the meatballs by hand.

    Fish balls

    A light dish of lean pollock or hake fillet. To get juicy meatballs, you need to add fat to the minced fish. For example, pure pork fat, beef fat or butter. Finished products are boiled or baked.

    • White fish fillet (hake, pollock) – 500 g.
    • White unleavened bread – 200 g.
    • Lard without additives or butter – 50 g.
    • Salt.
    • Egg – 1-2 pcs.

    Sour cream sauce for baking:

    • Oil – 30-40 ml.
    • Sour cream – 150 g.
    • Fresh dill – 30 g.
    • Onion – 50 g.
    • Broth as needed.
    • Carrots – 100 g.
    • Flour – 1 tsp.
    1. Grind the lean fish fillet into a homogeneous mass. Mix with bacon or butter, soaked unleavened bread without crusts.
    2. Beat in one or two eggs, depending on the consistency of the minced meat. It should remain tight. Add salt.
    3. Make small balls. If the minced fish still turns out a little liquid, roll the meatballs in breadcrumbs.
    4. Place on a baking sheet or multicooker container in sparse rows.
    5. Grind the carrots and onions into a puree. To do this, grate on the finest profile of a grater.
    6. Dilute a spoonful of flour in cold broth (water). Combine the flour mixture with sour cream, finely chopped dill and vegetable puree. Add salt and a little oil.

    Poultry and rabbit meatballs

    Rabbit is a tender meat that practically does not cause allergies, unlike chicken meat. Its protein is easily digestible, so fillet is recommended to be regularly included in children's menus. Some housewives do not like the peculiar “milky” aroma of steamed rabbit meat, so in recipes for homemade cutlets and meatballs, rabbit fillet is diluted with turkey or chicken breast.

    The proposed recipe is aimed at children from 1.5 years old. For very young children, minced meat is prepared without onions.

    • Rabbit – 250 g.
    • Butter – 50 g.
    • Chicken breast, turkey breast – 250 g.
    • Boiled carrots – 70 g.
    • Greens optional.
    • Onions – 20 g.
    • Boiled potatoes or rice – 100 g.
    • Salt.
    • Chicken egg – 1 pc.
    1. Grind two types of fillets into a homogeneous mass along with boiled potatoes and butter.
    2. Add the carrots later, mashing with a fork or grating. The potatoes help the mince hold its shape, and the carrot pieces add color.
    3. Knead well and add salt. At the end, beat in the eggs, monitoring the consistency of the mass.
    4. Roll into small balls. Boil or bake to taste. If you plan to cook in a slow cooker, the balls need to be made larger than usual.

    Beef meatballs

    A hearty dish for children from one and a half years old. Prepared in two versions - with or without vegetables. Dark meat masks the taste of cabbage well, so you can add boiled broccoli, cauliflower or Brussels sprouts to the minced meat. These vegetables are very healthy, but not particularly loved by most kids.

    To get a denser and more easily shaped minced meat, add sticky boiled rice or potatoes to the recipe.

    • Beef – 300 g.
    • Boiled broccoli or cauliflower – 100 g.
    • Pork (or chicken) – 150-200 g.
    • Butter – 50-70 g.
    • White unleavened bread – 100 g.
    • Salt.

    Sour cream sauce for baking:

    • Oil – 20 ml.
    • Green onion – 50 g.
    • Broth as needed.
    • Sour cream – 150 g.
    • Fresh parsley – 30 g.
    • Carrot, tomato or red pepper – 100 g.
    • Flour – 1 tsp.
    1. Grind pork and beef fillets with butter. Mix with soaked crumb and spices. The minced meat must be twisted several times and kneaded well, saturating the mass with air bubbles.
    2. Add 100 g to the already prepared minced meat. broccoli or cauliflower, mashed with a fork.
    3. Pour a spoonful of flour into cold vegetable broth (100 ml), pour in 30 ml. vegetable oil and 150-200 ml. low-fat sour cream. Add vegetable puree from a mixture of onions and blanched tomatoes (sweet peppers or carrots). Add herbs to taste.
    4. Form small balls from dense minced meat and place them in sparse rows on a baking sheet or in a multicooker container.
    5. Pour in sour cream sauce with vegetables and cook according to the appliance program (baking mode) or leave in the oven for 20 minutes at 180 degrees.
