  • the meat does not have rough tendons;
  • there is an appetizing aroma and pleasant taste;
  • It contains vitamins B, A, PP, and minerals - iron and phosphorus, potassium and calcium, sodium and iodine.

Turkey meat contains small amounts of cholesterol, but it will not harm the baby.

Turkey for babies - a dietary delicacy

One of the best options would be to choose turkey puree:

  • it is easily absorbed by a child’s fragile body;
  • it has very little cholesterol;
  • contains a lot of high quality protein;
  • has a pleasant delicate taste;
  • contains easily digestible iron;
  • almost never causes allergies.

The product also contains a significant amount of omega-3 fatty acids, which are critical for the development of the baby’s brain and the formation of neural connections in it, helping to strengthen the child’s nervous system. All this further ensures the formation of better cognitive abilities in a grown-up person. The vitamin composition supplies the body with everything it needs and ensures harmonious growth and development.

Turkey meat is not a budget product. But, despite this, taking into account the mass of positive properties, it is worth spending money and choosing it for your beloved child. Its price is due to the high costs of breeding birds. Turkey meat, traditional for America, appeared in our country relatively recently. But it is gradually winning the love of our consumers.

First feeding with turkey: when to start?

It is theoretically possible to give meat to a baby after 6 months. At this age, all the necessary enzymes are already present, with the help of which food of animal origin is digested. It is most advisable to choose turkey as the first complementary meat meal, since eating it by a child will most likely not cause allergies.

Meat is introduced into the baby's diet at about 8 months - 2 months after he receives the first portions of porridge or soup.

In this case, one should take into account not only his age, but also other indicators. Complementary feeding is given when the baby is feeling well, making sure that the temperature outside is not very high, since in the heat the child should not be given a new dish for the first time. This will be a big burden for him. You should also not experiment with nutrition during, before or after vaccination.

The response to vaccination may be a negative reaction from the body, and the mother needs to know that this is not related to food. When the vaccination has already been done and everything is fine, after a week you can introduce the child to meat products.

They begin to give the baby a new dish with 1 teaspoon before the main menu. It is better to dilute it with vegetable puree, breast milk, or an adapted formula that is already familiar to the child. How to prepare meat puree for babies

It is not difficult to prepare this dish for a child at home. To do this, take the sirloin, cut off all excess from it and put a small piece in a bowl, fill it with cold water, heat it, and after boiling, remove the foam and turn it off. Then washed in running water. After this, put it back into a clean saucepan with water and cook for 10 minutes. The liquid is drained again. For the third time they are already brought to readiness.

To be completely sure that it is already cooked, it is kept on fire for 1.5-2 hours. After it becomes soft, the liquid is drained and the fillet is made into minced meat. Then the meat mass is diluted with vegetable broth or added to the soup.

How to properly boil a whole carcass?

To boil a whole turkey, in addition to the carcass itself, you need to take an onion and a carrot, a teaspoon of sea salt and a few grinds of black pepper. The manipulation will consist of several stages:

  • We wash the bird, remove fat and excess skin from the surface. Take a very large saucepan, fill it with water and bring the liquid to a boil.
  • Place coarsely chopped carrots and a whole onion into still cold water. Add pepper and salt.
  • After the liquid boils, lower the carcass into it, wait for it to boil again and reduce the heat to low.
  • Cook the product for about 3 hours. To check the readiness of the product, you need to pierce it with a fork (the teeth should easily enter the pulp).
  • The boiled carcass must be infused in the same broth for at least 15 minutes. Only after this do we transfer the bird to another bowl, wait until it cools down and cut it into pieces.

It is worth considering that the resulting broth is not recommended for use in making soup; it is too fatty and rich. But it will make a wonderful jellied meat or sauce. In general, it is extremely rare to boil a whole turkey, because... It is difficult to achieve uniform processing of fillet and meat in areas over the bones.

Turkey meatballs

When your child’s diet includes soups, you can diversify the first courses with the help of meatballs.

Ingredients:

  • turkey fillet;
  • bulb onions;
  • quail egg;
  • boiled buckwheat.

To prepare them, take turkey fillet and onions and grind them in a meat grinder several times. Then add the egg and make round balls. Before boiling, collect the foam and cook in vegetable broth for up to 20 minutes.

Alternatively, you can make meatballs with the addition of boiled buckwheat. Both ingredients are mixed into minced meat and formed into balls.

Pasta with bolognese sauce

  • Paste
  • Minced meat (turkey, veal) – 200 g.
  • Tomato – 1 pc.
  • Garlic ½ clove

Preparation:⠀

  • Cook pasta according to package directions until half cooked.
  • Place the minced meat in a frying pan, add a spoonful of water and simmer covered over low heat until cooked (7-10 minutes)
  • Peel the tomato, cut into pieces of any shape or grate. Peel the garlic.
  • Add tomato, garlic to the minced meat, stir, cook over low heat, covered, for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the pasta to the prepared sauce and simmer for another 5-7 minutes.

Creamy soup

An easy-to-prepare dish that has a pleasant, delicate taste and can become a complete, satisfying lunch. Creamy turkey soup takes 60 minutes to cook. The main ingredients are turkey fillet, vegetables, cream and sour cream. The addition of lemon juice at the final stage of preparation gives it a special taste.

Ingredients:

  • Fillet – 400 g.
  • Carrots – 150 g.
  • Onion – 50 g.
  • Celery – 1 root.
  • Rice – 100 g.
  • Sour cream – 200 g.
  • Cream – 100 g.
  • Chicken egg – 3 pcs.
  • Salt.
  • Spices.
  • Parsley.
  • Lemon juice.

Cooking sequence:

  1. Add peppercorns, bay leaves and fillet pieces to a saucepan with water. Cook for ½ hour.
  2. At this time, cut the carrots, celery and onion into cubes of the same size.
  3. Add the chopped vegetables to the broth and continue to cook over medium heat.
  4. Then add rice and cook for 15 - 20 minutes.
  5. Remove the boiled meat from the broth and chop or separate it into fibers, and then put it back into the pan.
  6. In a separate container, mix sour cream, cream and eggs.
  7. Heat the cream mixture on the stove and then pour it into the pan with the broth.
  8. Stir and cook for another 5 minutes.

Rich broth with brown rice

This dish can be prepared in various ways. For example, you can use any pre-prepared broth and put pieces of turkey fillet into it. It is also allowed to use only drumsticks and water and prepare rich turkey soup from them. How long to cook the turkey for this recipe depends on the ingredients used. The average cooking time is 60 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • Broth – 2.5 l.
  • Fillet – 500 g.
  • Brown rice – 150 g.
  • Tomatoes in tomato juice.
  • Shallot – 50 g.
  • Garlic – 3 cloves.
  • Greenery.
  • Salt.

To make Turkey Brown Rice Soup, you will need:

  1. Heat the prepared broth and add rice. Cook for 15 minutes.
  2. Cut the fillet into small pieces and lightly fry.
  3. Finely chop the onion and add to the pan with the broth. Also add fillet pieces and chopped tomatoes to the ingredients.
  4. Cook over medium heat for 20 minutes.
  5. At the end of cooking, add crushed garlic.
