Interrupted daytime sleep

Many things can interfere with a child's daytime sleep. Brothers and sisters came home from school and made a fuss, the child fell asleep at the nanny’s and was woken up when they took him home, or (the most common reason) fell asleep in the car and woke up when the trip was over.
