To create the required ratio, demineralized cow's milk whey, whey protein concentrate, and skim milk are used. The food is made from cow's milk, which, of course, differs in composition from natural breast milk. A special feature of the composition of the Nutrilon Premium mixture is the absence of maltodextrin. This component is included only in the Premium 2 product. Maltodextrin is not addictive to sweets and is easily absorbed by the body. The component composition of baby food fat includes vegetable, fish, unicellular fungal oil and traces of milk fat. We tested Nutricia Nutrilon Comfort 1 infant formula in the laboratory and found that the stated content of vitamins and minerals differed only slightly from the actual content. Vitamin C in the mixture turned out to be 80 mg/100g, while the amount stated in the composition was 68 mg. This amount is enough to saturate the body of a six-month-old baby with vitamin C. Ascorbic acid is a very important component that is responsible for the proper functioning of the immune system and promotes the absorption of iron.

Deviations in the content of potassium, calcium and iron do not exceed 6% - which means that here, too, the manufacturer indicated accurate information on the packaging. These microelements are important for the development of various systems of a growing body, so we separately checked whether there are enough of them in the mixture. Formula milk can meet the needs of a six-month-old baby, but if your baby is older, it is better to switch to Nutrilon Comfort Premium 2.

In order to find out whether the mixture has enough microelements, we determined the ash content - 2.1 g. Let us recall that the average ash content in the mixtures, according to the results of our tests, is 2.2 g. Moreover, the more ash in baby food, the more minerals in the composition.

According to experts, the correct ratio of calcium and phosphorus in food should be 2 to 1 - approximately the same ratio of these elements in the salts that form bones. In the Nutrilon Comfort infant formula, the ratio of calcium to phosphorus is 1.84, which practically satisfies this requirement.

Separately, it is worth highlighting prebiotics - components of breast milk that stimulate the growth of bifidobacteria in the intestines. These beneficial bacteria perform a protective function and contribute to the development of immunity in children. It is noteworthy that Nutrilon Comfort Premium 1 leads in our tests in terms of the content of prebiotics in the mixture. We found such a large quantity only in Nutricia Malyutka 1.

ARA and DHA are omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids found in oily fish. These are substances necessary for the proper formation of the child’s brain and vision.

Nucleotides play an important role in the biochemical processes of the body. The manufacturer indicated only L-tyrosine in the composition - this is an amino acid that is part of proteins.

Contains no probiotics. These are useful living microorganisms that should help normalize the baby’s digestion. However, their necessity is often disputed by experts. We have previously talked about the fact that, according to research, probiotics do not alleviate infant colic, therefore, due to their absence, the overall score of the Nutrilon Premium 1 mixture did not decrease by much.

Our laboratory tests did not detect any pathogenic microorganisms or toxins. We also did not find sucrose, which can negatively affect the development of a child’s body. The sweetness of the mixture comes from a natural carbohydrate - lactose. It is safer than sucrose, but please note that the mixture may not be suitable for children with lactose intolerance.

“Four milk” to normalize digestion

What are the differences?
