Is it possible to drink Ibuklin while breastfeeding?

Many breastfeeding women are concerned about the question of whether or not they can drink Ibuklin during breastfeeding. Since the drug penetrates the hematoplacental barrier and is excreted in milk, it is not recommended to take it during breastfeeding. At the same time, a small part of the active substances passes into breast milk and it is not necessary to stop breastfeeding in all cases.

There are also some peculiarities of taking Ibuklin during pregnancy, such as the impossibility of using the drug in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy, and in the 1st and 2nd trimester, taking Ibuklin is possible only as prescribed by a doctor.

Therefore, if you have a headache, toothache or fever, you should consult a specialist and select other medications that are compatible with breastfeeding. Otherwise, you must stop breastfeeding while taking Ibuklin.

Is it possible to drink children's Ibuklin during gw

To reduce the possible risk of taking Ibuklin, some women prefer to drink Ibuklin Junior, since it contains a lower dosage of active substances.

If a nursing woman takes Ibuklin Junior, then the following options are possible:

  • lack of therapeutic effect due to the low dosage of active substances;
  • Taking a large number of tablets will create the required concentration of active substances, as when using an adult dosage.

The cost of Ibuklin for children is 95-140 rubles per package, and for adults - 170-180 rubles. If you consider that to obtain a therapeutic effect when taking Ibuklin Junior you will need 3 tablets, and if you take an adult Ibuklin 2 tablets will be enough, then it is more profitable to take the drug for adults, and the risk of side effects in the baby will not decrease.

special instructions

The medicine must not be combined with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

In case of simultaneous use with anticoagulants, it is important to monitor blood counts.

To exclude a bad effect on the liver, you should not drink alcohol during the course of therapy.

While taking Ibuklin Junior, you should refrain from personal driving and work that requires increased attention.

Dose adjustment is necessary for disorders of the liver, kidneys, severe pathologies of the heart, blood and in old age.

Possible harm to the child

Nursing mothers often worry whether Ibuklin can harm the baby. Let's figure this out.

During lactation, taking Ibuklin is relatively harmless, but only if the child is completely healthy and the mother has no history of diseases for which taking the medication is prohibited or taken with caution (kidney and liver diseases).

A nursing woman is prescribed the minimum dosage: 2 tablets per day with an interval of at least 8 hours. At the same time, you need to monitor the child’s well-being.

It is necessary to stop breastfeeding when the baby exhibits the following symptoms:

  • intestinal colic;
  • decreased or loss of appetite;
  • skin rash;
  • rapid breathing;
  • increased nervous excitability.

In this case, you should immediately consult your pediatrician. As a rule, a nursing woman is prescribed an analogue of Ibuklin or is advised to stop breastfeeding while taking Ibuklin.

How to prevent your child's condition from getting worse

To reduce the risk of side effects and deterioration in the child’s well-being when a nursing woman takes Ibuklin, the following rules should be followed:

  1. Take the tablet immediately after feeding your baby. The drug is quickly absorbed into the gastrointestinal tract and enters the blood, and during the interval between feedings the level of active substances in milk will decrease significantly.
  2. Drink Ibuklin no more often than 1 tablet every 8 hours. In this case, you are allowed to take no more than 2 tablets per day.

It is important to closely monitor the child's condition. Allergic reactions may not appear immediately, but after a nursing woman takes 2-3 tablets.

If the child’s well-being has not worsened, then you can take Ibuklin during guarding, but not longer than 3 days. If during this period the woman’s well-being has not improved, then she is prescribed another medicine.

Use for children under 18 years of age

Ibuklin Junior is often prescribed for fever in children of different ages, as well as in different dosages. Feedback from parents about the effect of the medication can be negative or positive, depending on the individual child. For children of different ages, the scheme may differ.

Patient age Dosage and regimen of use of the product
Children from 3 to 5 years oldFor such patients, the maximum duration of treatment is 5 days. During this period, it is allowed to take 1 tablet of the medicine in the morning and evening after first dissolving in 5 ml of water. If there is no effect from taking it, you should consult a doctor, but it is strictly contraindicated to increase the dosage without a prescription. The minimum interval between taking tablets is 4 hours. If the patient suffers from kidney pathologies, this time increases to 8 hours
Patients from 5 to 8 years oldPatients over 5 years of age are prescribed up to 4-5 tablets per day, depending on the degree of neglect of the condition. The maximum course duration without a doctor's prescription is 3 days, with a doctor's prescription - no more than 5 days. The product is dissolved in 5 ml of water according to the standard regimen, consumed no more than once every 4 hours to eliminate the risk of complications. It is worth noting that the tablet is dissolved immediately before use; storing the dissolved tablet is strictly contraindicated
Patients from 8 to 12 years oldChildren over 8 years of age are prescribed no more than 5 tablets per day, which should be taken no more than once every 4 hours. For fever, you can take pills for 3 days. If the drug is used as part of a complex treatment of an inflammatory disease, it can be taken for 5 days in a row as prescribed by a doctor, but only in the indicated dosage

Dispersible tablets are usually not prescribed to patients over 12 years of age. For such patients, Ibuklin is produced without the Junior label, which is also prescribed to adults. Despite this, it is not prohibited for children over 12 years of age to take tablets if there is such a need.

The dosage for them is determined individually, but usually does not exceed 6 tablets per day, divided into 3 doses. Before use, the tablet is placed in 1 tsp. water at room temperature. After the product has dissolved and foam has formed on the surface of the water, you should take the composition internally. If necessary, you can take the medication with a small amount of water.

It is always recommended to take the medicine after eating food, since the drug has a rather aggressive effect on the mucous membranes of the stomach.

Ibuklin Junior is active for children with fever, thanks to the content of paracetamol and ibuprofen!

The maximum duration of treatment for a child over 12 years of age and an adult is 7 days. In case of repeated progression of the disease, the doctor, according to strict indications, extends the course. Independent increase in dosage and course duration is strictly contraindicated.

When you should not combine breastfeeding and taking Ibuklin

You can drink Ibuklin during lactation, but with caution. However, in certain cases it is necessary to completely stop breastfeeding while taking the medicine. These are the cases:

  • Excitability and poor sleep in a child. The active substances included in the drug and entering the child’s body along with milk can increase nervous excitement.
  • The presence of a bacterial or viral cold infection in a nursing woman. During therapy, a woman, in addition to Ibuklin, is prescribed a number of drugs that can pass into breast milk. This also increases the risk of infecting your child with a cold.
  • Frequent colic and increased gas production in the child. The drug negatively affects the functioning of the digestive system, aggravating the condition.
  • A history of liver and kidney pathology in a nursing woman. These diseases are not contraindications for treatment with Ibuklin, but abnormalities in organ function can slow down the excretion of metabolites, which leads to an increase in the level of active components in breast milk.
  • Presence of diathesis in a child. Skin rashes may indicate a tendency to allergic reactions, and breastfeeding should be avoided while taking Ibuklin.

In all other cases, a preliminary consultation with a specialist is required and it is possible to take Ibuklin during hepatitis B in compliance with medical recommendations.

Contraindications

You should refrain from taking Ibuklin in the following cases:

  • gastrointestinal bleeding;
  • severe renal failure;
  • diseases of the blood system;
  • progressive kidney disease;
  • 3rd trimester of pregnancy;
  • children under 12 years of age;
  • individual intolerance;
  • inflammatory bowel diseases;
  • gastric and duodenal ulcers in the acute phase;
  • damage to the optic nerve;
  • severe liver failure, liver disease;
  • progressive kidney diseases.

In all other cases, before taking the drug, you should consult a specialist.

Reviews

Alevtina, 25 years old

While breastfeeding, the doctor prescribed Ibuklin for me due to elevated body temperature. I had to temporarily stop breastfeeding because I was afraid that the active substances would enter the baby’s body along with the milk. I can note the high effectiveness of this drug; the very next day after taking Ibuklin there was no trace of illness left.

Maria, 32 years old

I drank Ibuklin for children while breastfeeding for headaches. I did not stop lactation; taking the drug did not affect the child in any way.

Inga, 25 years old

During lactation, I only took Ibuklin once because of severe toothache. I can note that the pain quickly subsided after taking the pill. I did not stop breastfeeding, the child’s well-being did not change. But before taking Ibuklin, I consulted with a doctor.

Angelica, 28 years old

One day, while breastfeeding, I had a severe headache. I consulted with my doctor and decided to take one Ibuklin tablet. Yes, the pain went away, but at the same time the baby began to be capricious and his body temperature dropped slightly. For this reason, I no longer drink Ibuklin during the guard, but with my doctor I select safer analogues of this drug.

Ibuklin should be taken with caution during breastfeeding and only if prescribed by a specialist. It is advisable to stop lactation while taking it so that the active components of the drug do not enter the child’s body along with milk.

Side effects

Quite often, the medication provokes negative reactions from internal organs and systems. In children, they appear more pronounced, but can quickly disappear after stopping taking the pills.

  • On the part of the heart and blood vessels, there is an increase in heart rate, pain in the sternum, a decrease or increase in blood pressure.
  • A blood test reveals a decrease in red blood cells and platelets. Sometimes the development of leukopenia is noted.
  • On the part of the skin, complications occur frequently and manifest themselves in the form of urticaria of varying severity, as well as Quincke's edema.
